About Keshav Dasu

I received my Ph.D. in computer science at the University of California Davis. My research focus is centered around utilizing Data Visualization as a medium for storytelling and communication.

I sought to develop strategies and guidelines to aid in the design of visualization as well as facilitate the communication of scientific information to a lay audience. A goal of mine is to find methods or a “bag of tricks” anyone can apply to build the bridge from unfamiliar and complex to familiar and understandable. Recently, I have been deeply interested in applying lessons from linguistics and, namely philosophy of language, to describe design intentions in data visualization.

I also draw at odd hours of the night, bother my dog, climb, and have a bad habit of chasing whatever makes me smile.
